This Halloween we carved our “Eye of the Chumpkin” out of a fake pumpkin from Michaels, with an eye socket large enough to accommodate the screen and front plate of a Chumby.  I purchased the Chumby Guts from Makershed.com, and thought the pumpkin made a natural enclosure.

But the magic really started when we integrated our Eye-Fi camera card into the mix.  I configured the Chumpkin’s chumby.com channel to only show the miniml flickr.com widget, randomly showing photos from a particular public photo set.  Then I configured Eye-Fi memory card to upload its photos directly to the same set on flickr.  The result is an interactive slide show: a few minutes after taking a snapshot, the chumpkin will display it as part of the slide show rotation.

Stare into the camera, and a few minutes later you’ll be staring out of the Eye of the Chumpkin as I am below.

Happy Halloween!
